Your membership starts as soon as the application is accepted with a joining fee of £5 for adults and £2 for children, and at least £1 savings are received. Please note, by law we can only offer membership to people who are associated with a Christian church in the Birmingham area. If you do not meet this requirement, the ABCU web site lists other credit unions you can apply to join.
Alternatively, if you aren't eligible to join this credit union, try alternative organistaions like ABCUL, were hopefully you will be able to find a credit union that you can join. How do I join?
Download the relevant application form, complete it and return it to our head office. One of the proposers must be a church pastor or credit union director, and lastly a member. Applications are then handled at the monthly directors' meeting and you'll be told the outcome. If you have children we eveb run an excellent 'Junior Savers' scheme with no minimum payment and a good rate of return. When they are 18, they can apply to join the credit union in their own right.
