Handsworth Breakthrough Credit Union recognises the importance of Online Accessibility and Web Standards. This site is designed to comply with the CSS W3C guidelines and XHTML standards. It is also 100% CSS based and follows a tableless design. If you have trouble reading the print on Web pages, you can easily change the size of the font to fit your needs.

 

The site's design criteria considered the many features that improve or may hamper a user’s access to the Internet site. The issues addressed in development of this web site encompassed minimal use of java applets, relative font sizes (meaning screen text can be resized), images provide alternative text, XHTML code compliance to W3C Transitional standard, page structure enhanced via CSS but not dependent on Style Sheets and the use of accessible navigation key codes.

 

Other means of accessing this site

People with screen readers will be able to read screen text and included information like the details of images or descriptions of charts projections. Users with motor neuron disabilities may find the use of keyboard function keys more effective.

    - Click View using your mouse. It's on the browser Menu Bar
    - Highlight Fonts
    - Place your mouse cursor on the words Fonts or Text Size. You now have 5 size choices
    - Click on Smallest - Note the change in text size on your browser screen
    - Click on Largest. - Again, note the size change
    - Choose a font size
    - Make sure you choose the font size that suits you best.

     

    You can also achieve the same using the keyboard. Press ALT+V to open the View Menu. Navigate to the 'Text Size' Option and then to the required font size using the navigational (arrow keys). Press enter to save changes.

     

    Can be view on mobile/Portable devices support HTML/xHTML. Website and full features can be viewed on screens and Visual Displays Units of 800 by 600 pixel resolution. Please contact us if you have any problems.
